Hello,once again I'M back for another blog for the NextHotThang. Feed back is what I'm looking for so I hope to hear from you! I'm new at this so I hope my content and writing grows as does my following! Well, lets get started.

SPORTS: I'm a big sports fan so usually I"ll begin with a pulse check of  the various sporting leagues. Well, as the weekend drew near so did the NFL Conference Championship games,which ruled supreme Sunday in the sporting world. The popularity of the NFL in America has continued to grow like no other major sport in this country. It has become a multi-billion dollar business,which continues to excite and reach new highs each season with regular and post season games! I look for this years championship games to continue to break and set new viewing records on its way to what became a very interesting run for the Super Bowl!
   Injuries had effected some players leading up to the big game, however, there were no major scratches for Sundays game. Tom Brady set out of practice the other day with what was called a shoulder injury, nothing more than just a little rest. Be assured, Brady missing practice didn't effect his play Sunday as he was spot on and hitting receivers as usual.By far it wasn't Brady's best game though,as he threw 2 ints,but he is the pulse of the team and very much made plays when he had to. B-More had their shots at winning the game. Didn't understand why go for it on 4th down when you could have kicked a field goal and tied the game up? Even with not picking up the first down they still got the ball back and could have won! Lee Evans letting the ball get knocked out of his hands in the end zone was a killer!!!! Definitely the game sealer had he hung on to it.Then the game comes down to the field goal kicker that does what? Miss the field goal!!! I feel bad for Murder Ray and Ed Reed cause time is slowly running out on those dudes, and in the NFL its extremely hard to make it back to the Playoffs, not to mention the Conference Championship! So New England heads to their 7th Super Bowl in franchise history and 5th in Brady's rule as QB for the Patriots! Well Dallas, you officially have neighbors who are knocking on the door in Conference title games and possibly Super Bowl rings! Oh well!!Leading up to the big game Sunday Ol Eli didn't practice either do to a stomach virus,but was ready to play Sunday! Eli was 32-58, 316yrds 2TD's. Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks of course had big games! Cruz had over 130yrds receiving in the first half,which set a Conference title game record. As usual the Giants front seven came to play and did very well!!! Not to be out done the 49ers played extremely  good defense sending Eli to the turf numerous times, and actually had New York beat, had it not been for one player who, in my opinion of watching a lot of football, could go down in history as being one of the biggest game blowers in pro sports!!! Really!! Kyle Williams first muffed a punt, which then led to a game tying score! Then in overtime, with no room for error what does Kyle Williams do???? Put the ball on the turf deep in there own territory setting New York up for the winning field goal. So its a rematch of the 2007 Super Bowl game.Who you got? Me Ima sit out on this one and be a watcher,no sides. How bout that?
   Switching gears now. To Americas second sport, basketball. At least I think so, some would argue baseball is, but baseball just isn't doing good numbers in attendance or T.V. ratings. But anyway, Ol Lebron James decided to step up the other night against the Spurs and play like a" King" rather than the" Help"! "King James" as they call him is by far, in my opinion and my opinion doesn't mean much, the most overrated player ever to play in the NBA! No Player in the history of the NBA has entered the league with more hype, expectation,and star power than Lebron James did before ever playing a NBA game! Granted, it was placed upon him by the media more than anything, but Lebron did play into the hype and anointed himself the"King", so he is part to blame!But, since entering the league Lebron has done little to prove he belongs among the" Mega Stars" who are "Killers" during the season, playoffs, and in the finals. Players like Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Kobe have proven themselves to be "Straight Killers" on the court!!!! Now, don't get me wrong. Early in Lebrons career he did show flashes of his talent, like single handly beating the Detroit Pistons in overtime scoring all the points in a playoff game sending Cleveland to the NBA finals! However, it seems as though over the last couple years Lebron, hasn't ascended to that next level of greatness! A lot would argue that point saying,"Lebron  led Cleveland to multiple playoffs, conference championships, and the NBA finals with a not so great Cavalier team"! But with that you have to realize that the Eastern Conference was very leak and teams with losing records were making the playoffs.The only contender in the East at that time was the Detroit Pistons and they were slowly running out of steam after their dominance of the past 4years! Lebron James is only a "Mega Star" in terms of hype, cause if you look at his play, especially when it really counts,"King James" has left the castle! One thing about Mega Stars like Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Kobe to name a few and the best, they're genetically coded with the "killer" gene,which watching Lebron he doesn't possess! You're 6 "8" 260 pounds in the NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks,and you're losing may I add, and you're being guarded by 5 "10" Brea on  the baseline. What do you do? You pass the ball away! Your teammates see the match up and pass it back to you! Then what do you do? You pick up a charging foul and turn the ball over! Does that sound like a Mega Star with "Killer" instinct? Hell no! Had that been any of the "Killers"I named earlier dude would still be trying to find out what the hell happen!! But Lebron is nothing more than an over hyped side kick that greatly needs a Mega Star, a la Wade, to carry him to a title!!! I Call it like I see it!!
   Last thing on pro sports and its going to be very short!! Mayweather stop playing games and put the beat down on Pac Man so you can put the haters to rest!!

FITNESS:

   The New Year is here and the gyms across the country are packed full of people who made New Year resolutions to shed unwanted pounds and get into shape! Well, Shedding those extra pounds and getting yourself into shape won't come easy and will take some dedication, consistency, and time. If you haven't hit the gym in several years or never at all, then the beginning is gonna seem very much the part impossible!! There's no magical elixir or workout equipment sold in stores or on T.V. that's going to take you from fat & out of shape, to rock hard & sculpted in as little as 30 days!!So if you're serious then here's some tips from my treasure trove of workouts and routines!
1. The fastest and best way to burn calories is to incorporate interval training,which is the method of raising and lowering your heart rate mainly by running!!You would do this by running at a fast pace for say a minute,then slowing down for a minute, which allows your heart rate to drop,then back to a fast pace and so forth. Start with a 5 minute slow warm-up jog then start your interval running. You'll run a total of 30 minutes. This is done three times a week. Within three months if you stick to this workout weekly you'll start seeing major results!!
2. Throw in some light weightlifting. When you train with weights make sure you hit everybody part.On the real though, Pull-ups, Push-ups, and Dips will do wonders for your body and may give you better results starting out rather than using weights!One, you're learning to push and pull your on body weight. This could be a good starting point where you do 3 to 4 sets of 10-20 reps of pull-ups,push-ups, and dips! Grant it, its gonna take some weeks before you will be able to handle your own body weight cause your muscles have to get conditioned and use to the stress of exercising!!! If you decide to go the weightlifting route your workout should look something like this. To hit every body part you need to do these exercises Bench press, Arm curls, Shoulder presses, Tricep push downs, Squats, Pull downs, and Calf raises. If its been awhile since you last worked out slowly work your way into lifting weights. On the first day don't go all out trying to lift everything cause the next day and  the day after you will be sooo sore you won't feel like moving!!! Which is another thing that prevents people from returning to the gym.Slowly start with a couple of light weight lifts for each exercise, then as the week goes on begin doing more weight,sets and reps! Once you're up to speed then you can do 4 sets of 10 reps of each exercise and increasing the weight and intensity as your conditioning/endurance betters! Also, don't forget the Abs!!! Normally two different Ab workouts is good. Try doing crunches by lying on the bench press bench or floor with your knees bent and slightly lift towards your knees. Another good Ab workout is leg raises either hanging from a pull-up bar, or if your gym has one, use the leg raise bench. Do 4sets of each exercise with a rep range of 20-30. You may have to work your way up, so if you only can do 8-10 then do that and keep working until you're able to do more.With this simple little workout in months you will start seeing results,but you have to remember the key to working out is dedication, consistency, and time!! Oh, I almost forgot, you need patience cause it ain't gonna come over night!
   3.Diet: With any workout you need a solid diet to help your plan bare fruit! Now, I'm a person that doesn't believe in all the diet hype that's going around claiming," if you do this then you will see these results." Those types of diets just don't float my boat and is mainly out to do one thing and that's make someone or company a lot of money!!! Just keep it plain and simple you'll save money and accomplish more. If you stick to your workout plan there's only a couple changes that would need to be made to your life style. No eating after 8pm. If hunger sets in during the late hours of the night first try drinking a tall glass of water and wait several minutes. If hunger persist then try eating healthy and have some type of fruit, orange, apple, banana. Peanuts can also be a good snack if you find yourself hungry late, just don't eat the whole bottle/can!!Cut out sugary products/drinks! Products high in sugar is your bodies worse enemy and can wreck havoc on any workout routine you may be doing!!Sugar does nothing more than add empty calories to your diet and make shedding pounds an up hill battle! So at all cost avoid sodas, candy, cakes, and other products that's high in sugar.Eat 5 small meals throughout the day. Not eating or skipping meals does nothing for your body but slow the metabolism which is what you need to burn calories. So thinking you will lose more weight by skipping meals or not eating is a no no,cause you're only slowing down your weight loss.To keep yourself sane its good to have a cheat day where you may indulge in one of your favorite diet breaking foods.Now, this isn't an all out stuff fest that last throughout the day,so don't go hog wild on your cheat day. Just pick one thing and let that be your cheat!!

ENTERTAINMENT:

This past weekend Red Tails opened across the country. In my opinion this is a must see movie for all. It shows the hardship, prejudices,and obstacles African-American servicemen had to overcome to be pilots in the military! Red Tail is an action packed flying movie inspired by the heroic exploits of the first all African American arial combat unit. These airmen were finally put into action and escorted bombers through the skies without ever loosing a bomber.This movie features the likes of Cuba Gooding Jr, Nate Parker, Terrence Howard, David Oyelowo, Ne-Yo, Tritan Wilds, Elijah Kelly, and real life Tuskegee airman DR. Roscoe Brown. History at its best. So take the time and check this flick out.

POLITICS:

Well Newt Gingrich stormed to an upset with in the South Carolina primary Saturday. This hit Mitt Romney hard and shaking up the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Newt thanked his supporters by tweeter.Newt also asked supporters to open their pockets for donations for the Jan 31 primary! Romney wasted no time hitting back with a big ad campaign with more than 7 Million used to reach supporters. Romney had hoped  that Florida would win him the nomination, but Newt has different plans in mind as he appears to be the stronger front runner. Rick Santorum and Ron Paul did badly in South Carolina voting.
   Rick Perry exited the race earlier last week and endorsed Newt Gingrich. So it looks as though the nomination will come down to multiple wifer, and open marriage Newt, against Mitt Romney!!!! We'll see, but if you ask me none of them are better to run this country than the man that is already doing so.
   The Republicans main purpose is to find the most viable candidate that can beat Barack Obama in the fall. Interviews with voters as they exited polls showed nearly half saying their to priority was finding a candidate who could defeat Obama. This exit poll was taken for the Associated Press and Television networks by Edison Research as voters left polls at 35 different selected sites. The interviews involved 1,577 voters!
